I saw my mom yesterday, and she gave me this old picture.
That's me in the wheelchair. The photo was taken in 1969, when an entertainer named Eddie Peabody visited Shriner's Hospital, my home away from home. I spent a good part of my childhood there, and it was from the boys' ward that I watched the first moon landing. Months later, I was still there, and met Eddie. I've been told that I also met Festus, from Gunsmoke, but I don't have the pictures to prove it.
